YOU ARE INVITED to attend the All Oregon Calligraphers Conference hosted by the Valley Calligraphy Guild of Eugene Oregon on October 4, 2014 at the River Life Resort in Harrisburg, OR (see map). Conference registration is $45.00.
Doors will open at 9:00 a.m. and the conference will conclude at 4:00 p.m. A buffet lunch will be provided as well as morning treats including coffee, tea and water. (Please register by September 20 to be assured a buffet lunch)
AOCC FEATURED GUEST SPEAKER: The AOCC 2014 featured guest speaker will be Kristen Doty giving her presentation entitled "The Creative Process".
WORKSHOPS "Watercolor & Calligraphy" taught by Kristen Doty. Two identical workshops will be held on Friday and Sunday, October 3 & 5, at Lane Community College (See: workshop registration form and supply list). Please make note of your preferred attendance day (Friday, Sunday or Either). Workshop registration is $60.00 which includes a materials fee of $18. (The "materials fee" includes: handouts, take-home palettes with artist quality watercolors, gouache, assortment of cotton watercolor papers, masking fluid and misc. items supplied by the instructor). Please make out separate checks to the Valley Calligraphy Guild for conference & workshop registrations.
GOODIE BAGS We will have a table for goodie-bag donations where guilds or individuals can bring items to share. Bags will be provided.
VENDOR TABLES If anyone in your guild or area would like to have a vendor table, please contact Rosalinda Sheaffer at 541-685-2501 or rasheaffer@aol.com by August 1, 2014. The cost for a vendor table is $25 per table (which includes 2 lunches). Vendors are to be open for business at 9:00 a.m. and stay until 4:15 p.m. Note: vendors who desire to take part in any conference activities must register for the conference.
DEMONSTRATIONS There will be five different afternoon demonstrations. Each conference attendee have time to attend all demonstrations and then take home a folder of instructions and/or examples about each demo. Feel free to bring a camera.
EXENDED LUNCH PERIOD from 12:00 noon - 1:30 p.m. for enjoying lunch, shopping at the vendors and viewing all the displays.
SHARING TABLE We will provide a "Sharing Table". If anyone has an idea, technique or something they have made and are willing to share, please contact Judy Black at 541-485-2336 or at dnjblack@comcast.net and provide a title, your name, phone # and/or e-mail address. Participants will each be assigned a specific time during the afternoon to do their sharing (time limit of 5 min. preferred). Printed directions and/or comments can be offered at the Sharing Table but they are not required.
HANDMADE BOOK DISPLAY Bring your handmade book(s) for display. There will be ID cards for you to fill out at the display table for listing the artist and book title. There will be "can touch" and "no touch" display sections.
6" X 6"ARTWORK DISPLAY Each conference attendee is invited to bring a 6" x 6" unframed piece of artwork for display.
DECORATED ENVELOPES DISPLAY Decorated registration envelopes will be put on display.
DOOR PRIZES If your guild or a member would like to contribute a door prize, please contact Rosalinda Sheaffer at 541-685-2501 or e-mail her at rasheaffer@aol.com. Please provide the name of the contributor with each door prize donation.
