Valley Calligraphy Guild
Schedule of Meetings, Events and Projects

General Meetings

All Valley Calligraphy Guild meetings will take place via Zoom until further notice.
Members will receive invitations by email.
Most general meetings will take place at 7 PM, Pacific Coast time.

All VCG members, everywhere in the known universe, have an opportunity to attend monthly meetings, see old friends and learn new techniques.

A Zoom invitation will be sent out to all members the day before the meeting.

MAY 2022

CHALLENGE FOR MAY 2022

May Day brings thoughts of flowers. Would you like to calligraph a poem about flowers? Draw flowers? Paint flowers? (Check out the Flowers to Send workshop for more flower ideas.)
May also gives us Mother’s Day. If you need someone to create a card for, there are lots of moms in elderly facilities who might not have a child willing or able to make them a card.
You could spread much joy with your creativity.
Memorial Day is a perfect time to remember service members we have lost by creating a calligraphic tribute.

Please take a photo of your creation and email it to Judy Black for inclusion in the VCG Newsletter.

JULY 2022
15 Valley Calligraphy Guild 2022 Virtual Exhibit

Information
All VCG members may submit up to three pieces
Deadline for submission - July 15, 2022
Calligraphy pieces should be submitted as e-mail attachments and sent to rjkimble1@gmail.com

Your piece does not need to be matted or framed.

Please include
- name of piece
- actual size
- materials used
Details on special techniques would be welcomed, but not required

Submit LARGE files (up to 2 MB), so the images can also be reproduced in the VCG newsletter. Large files many have to be mailed individually, rather than all attached to the same email.

Plan to take pictures with a digital camera or phone. If you are unable to photograph the pieces and do not have a friend who can do it, make an appointment to bring them to the home of Reeva Kimble for photography help.

Calligraphic Coronavirus Chronicles
Carol DuBosch has create an eBook that she has gifted the Oregon Food Bank to help encourage donations during this health crisis. This 39-page Ebook captures the essence of how we have all been feeling. It’s humorous, informational, and dramatic and all of it done with words, lettering, shapes and color. The artwork is original, fresh and documents this historic event in a unique way.
For a donation to the Oregon Food Bank of $15 or more, you can have the downloadable version of Carol"s Ebook –
